- Visit the American Psychological Association (APA) (http://www.apastyle.org/ (Links to an external site.)) style website that explains what it means to write in “APA style.” In addition, you may want to examine Landmark’s Citation Machine (Links to an external site.) as it provides a program to automatically convert your references into correct APA format.
- Take a look at the Park University Library (http://www.park.edu/library/index.asp) website; this is a great resource for locating online journals and other empirical resources. After browsing that site, visit the APA’s on-line Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. (This can be viewed throught the Park University Library.)
- Explore your own personality. There are a variety of on- line tests (http://www.queendom.com//tests/personality/index.html (Links to an external site.)) designed to measure various aspects of your personality.
- You may want to “surf” around the Internet and see what else you can find related to theories of personality. To guide your search, get out your textbook and type in the names of the different theorists (Freud, Adler, Jung, Horney, Fromm, Erikson, Skinner, Bandura, Cattell, Eysenck, Allport, Kelly, Rogers and Maslow) into a search engine (such as Yahoo (Links to an external site.) or Google (Links to an external site.)). There is a lot of interesting information available on each of these theorists. For example, did you know that one of the theorists we will study this term is a graduate of Park University (actually, it was Park College at the time of his graduation)?
