A San Francisco tradition since just after the Gold Rush, the parade continues to delight and entertain the many visitors who line the streets. Started in the 1860’s by the Chinese community in San Francisco, the parade serves as a means to educate the wider community about this cultural tradition. The Parade and Festival have grown to be one of the largest celebrations of Asian culture outside of Asia. http://www.chineseparade.com/ and http://www.sftourismtips.com/chinese-new-year-san-francisco.html
